After more than 20 associates of the Srebrenica Memorial Center received a summons for a hearing due to an investigation into alleged tax evasion, a summons came from this center for former and current employees and others who are being brought in connection with work engagement.

They invited them to contact this center if they receive a summons for questioning at the Srebrenica Police Station from the Zvornik Police Department.

“The goal of this call is to provide adequate legal support to all persons who find themselves in this situation, including organizing legal representation and other forms of legal assistance, in accordance with their needs. We ask everyone who receives the call to contact us without delay so that we can coordinate the provision of the necessary legal support and the protection of their rights during the procedure,” they stated.

The memorial center will continue to provide institutional support to its current and former employees and associates, in accordance with its capabilities and current regulations, it was announced.

So far, 28 associates of the Memorial Center have been summoned to a hearing due to an investigation into alleged tax evasion.

The director of this center, Emir Suljagić, called this investigation pressure on work and explained that they operate through the state treasury of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“The only basis for an arbitrary hearing is legal and transparent professional involvement in the MCS. And that is the message: if you have ties to the MCS, you will have a problem with the police. When you are a Bosniak in Srebrenica, it is proof that you are a second-class citizen,” wrote Suljagić earlier.
