13595828_1792098671026809_1913709463_nOn the occasion of Eid al-Fitr in the municipality of Stari Grad Sarajevo yesterday was organized reception for 100 martyr families (parents of fallen soldiers), 50 unemployed war veterans and 25 unemployed demobilized soldiers from the area of the municipality. Traditionally, all present received Eid gifts in the amount of 100 BAM.

Gifts were given by Mayor of the municipality Stari Grad Ibrahim Hadzibajric, who sent Eid greetings to everyone and wished them success in their future life.

This way, the Municipality of Stari Grad is trying to show respect to those who stood in defense of his country in a symbolic way.

“We organize this kind of receptions in the municipality of Stari Grad every year, and we are here to commemorate the upcoming Eid al-Fitr. We have set aside funds for a symbolic one-time assistance for 175 families,” said Hadzibajric.

Ahmed Kurtagic, the demobilized soldier from Sedrenik, lives without any income. “I live with my family of four, without any income. I do not receive a pension, and I have two sons who are not working. It’s hard to live, we manage to do it in different ways, but this kind of help is welcomed. We will have Eid in the right way,” said Kurtagic.

An unemployed demobilized combatant Nihad Saric also received the Eid gift today.

A total of 17,500 BAM was allocated from the budget of the Municipality of Stari Grad for Eid gifts.
