In the area of the municipality of Šamac, the state of emergency caused by natural disasters – stormy wind and heavy rain – has been lifted, it was confirmed by the municipal headquarters for emergency situations.

At the Staff meeting, it was concluded that the conditions have been met for the adoption of the Decision on the abolition of the state of emergency, taking into account the current situation on the ground.

The mayor of the municipality of Šamac, Đorđe Milićević, said that they are now entering the second phase related to repairing the damage, and that today at a meeting with the representatives of the communities of apartment owners, they agreed on the support and assistance of the municipality in repairing the damage to the roof structure of residential buildings.

“Funds for these purposes will be provided from the municipal budget and through donor funds,” stated Milićević.

He reminded that the workers of the company “Slobodna zona” and the Territorial Fire and Rescue Unit of Šamac were still working today on the arrangement and rehabilitation of buildings and the city park.

“When it comes to the rehabilitation of buildings owned by the municipality of Šamac, work has been completed on the center of culture in Obudovac, the fire station in Obudovac and the kindergarten in Šamac, and in the coming days, work on the rehabilitation of the remaining buildings will continue,” Milićević said.
