European Commissioner for Enlargement Štefan Fule said that will openly point out to B&H leaders and officials the urgent need to adopt the necessary decisions in order to adapt the trade part of the Agreement on Stabilization and Association after the Croatian accession into the EU.
Fule stressed that on 1st October in Brussels will not be held some meeting with invited representatives of the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the leaders of the main political parties, but will take place the official third meeting at the high level on the EU accession process.
Also, Fule emphasized that he expects that institutions and political leaders to keep their word on commitments undertaken a year ago at the first meeting of high level. Without effective coordination mechanism, B&H will not be able to communicate with the EU, and will not be able to negotiate within the government on the wide range of strategies and projects that will be implemented with the assistance of the EU funds.
The aim is that B&H to progress in the EU integration process, because that is what most of B&H citizens want and what political leaders are obligated. The first step for this part of the journey, before the requirement for the candidate status, is to create conditions for a credible membership application.
