Predsjednistvo i Stefan File 7Members of the BiH Presidency received in Sarajevo this morning the Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neigboring Policy Stefan Fule. They took this opportunity to express their satisfaction for his visit and appreciation for the constant interest for the situation in BiH, as well as support and assistance in meeting the requirements for EU membership.

They spoke of the implementation of the “Sejdić – Finci” ruling, as well as changes in the Constitution in accordance with the European Convention on Human Rights.

The European Commissioner for Enlargement conveyed the message for BiH to remain encouraged to continue dialogue with the goal to find a solution, and supports the efforts of the BiH government and all political leaders to resolve open issues, such as the implementation of the ruling as soon as possible.

He also stated that there is no alternative to finding a solution, which should be balanced and in line with European democratic standards. The EU will remain engaged in lending support and assistance to BiH in meeting the requirements, which is also indicated by today’s visit.

The Head of the EU Delegation to BiH and Special Representative Peter Sorensen, his Deputy Renzo Daviddi and the General Director of the General Directorate for Enlargement Stefano Sannino accompanied the European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule.
