Stevandic Claims: “There’s a Plan to Kill Dodik During His Arrest”

The Speaker of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, Nenad Stevandić, claims that there is information about the intention to kill Milorad Dodik in the event of his arrest. He believes that “a political and judicial attack is being waged against Republika Srpska in order to weaken it, while simultaneously destabilizing Serbia”.

“That is absolutely true. This problem existed before, when he came to the trial. It was also sensitive when a large number of people came to support him in the court in Sarajevo, and then they gave up on it. Even some buildings that were observed were marked as places from which Dodik could be shot. But this is nothing new from the beginning,” Stevandić told TV Pink.

In his opinion, the authorities of Republika Srpska are suffering pressure because they do not give up on preserving their powers”. He emphasized that “the latest attempts at judicial persecution have shown themselves to be politically motivated”, RTRS reports.

“They are, so to speak, announcing to us this variant, that if we do not withdraw, if we do not stop protecting the Republika Srpska, its property, its ability to make its own decisions – which is most important, this is a new attempt at our incrimination, or judicial persecution. As for Interpol, let’s say, thank you to Serbia, thank you to Hungary, thank you to everyone who participated in this exposure – that this is a matter of political persecution, not legal proceedings, because we are suspects because we are doing our job,” added Stevandić.

Stevandić said that “he is personally a suspect because he scheduled sessions and chaired the parliament, which are his constitutional obligations”.

“If I had not done that, as I would say, the Parliament would not have worked. We would have been blockers. That is simply unbelievable. Or because we did not allow incidents in the Parliament. So, we are suspects because we are doing our job. That is the first time,” he points out.
