“Although Dario Kordic was sentenced to 25 years in prison for the crime in Ahmici when 116 Bosniaks were killed, and after 17 years he was released, the last video that was released and recorded a little less than a year ago shows that he has not repented or been rehabilitated,” assessed the vice president of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH), Igor Stojanovic.
He says that with his statement, Dario Kordic confuted the Federal Minister of Culture and Sports, Sanja Vlaisavljevic, who recently said that when a war criminal serves his sentence, he is a regular citizen like everyone else.
“Rehabilitation, in my opinion, should mean that daily time is spent with the victims and their families. It is obvious that the sentence from The Hague did not work. Until Kordic bows down to the victims in Ahmici, there is no rehabilitation and no repentance,” wrote Stojanovic on his official Facebook profile.
He says that the fascist, genocidal attitudes and actions of Dario Kordic show that such people who spread hatred should be isolated from BiH if trust and respect are to be restored because promoters of hatred and war criminals remind us of the war policies of 30 years ago.
“I will always be on the side of the victim, regardless of their nationality or religion. I will never justify a crime with another crime, because that is the path to the destruction of BiH. Everyone who has any connection with Kordic, distance yourself from his views for the sake of the future of life in BiH,” Stojanovic concluded.
Kordic was sentenced by the Hague Tribunal to 25 years in prison for war crimes, including the one in the village of Ahmici, when Croatian Defense Council (HVO) units under his command killed 116 civilians, including 11 children, N1 reports.
