13621359_1795287124041297_1672039837_oThe artist Sejla Kameric published her work “Bosnian Girl” in 2003 and since then this photo was exhibited throughout the entire world.

Bosnian girl is work composed of portrait of the artist Sejla Kameric over which is written the text: No teeth…?  A moustache…?  Smel like shit…? Bosnian girl!

Artist did not invent this shocking inscription, but she quoted it from one of the graffiti’s that the Dutch peacekeepers left on the walls of the barracks where they were located.

This racist and misogynistic graphite symbolizes all the shame of the international forces of peace who were supposed to protect the population in Srebrenica back in 1995.

The fact that the artists put this inscription over her own photo shows the pride of a Bosnian girl who wanted to show in this way all the injustice that her people suffered to the world.
