An earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale struck the west coast of Mexico on Thursday, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center reported.
The epicenter of the earthquake was in the open sea, at a depth of 10 kilometers, 198 kilometers from La Manzanilla in the state of Jalisco.
There are no reports of injuries or material damage so far, Tanjug reports.
No tsunami warning has been issued.
