The strong wind that has been blowing in Herzegovina since Saturday has caused significant problems in most of this region, knocking down trees, causing material damage and disrupting traffic.
In Mostar, one large tree damaged several parked vehicles and blocked access to the entire settlement in the center of the city. Members of the city utility company had a lot of work to remove the trunk and branches that were obstructing traffic on the road. No one was injured, but a lot of material damage was caused.
The Federal Hydrometeorological Institute of Bosnia and Herzegovina has issued a warning for the Mostar area due to wind speeds of up to 65 kilometers per hour.
According to the report of the Auto Moto Association in BiH based in Mostar, traffic problems were recorded throughout Herzegovina, including the areas of that city, Neum, Čapljina, Tomislavgrad, Prozor and Livno.
On the Livno-Šuica main road (Borova glava), an additional challenge is the frequent outings of wild horses on the road, while increased traffic is recorded at local picnic areas and ski centers.
Drivers are advised to be extra careful and use winter equipment. Competent services appeal to citizens to be aware of the dangers brought by strong winds.
