Students of the 4th b grade of the Maglaj Elementary School, Jasmina Pasic, Tarik Topovcic, Edah Mahmutagic, and Inara Kepic, organized a humanitarian action on their own initiative in order to give their contribution to the action of raising funds for the purchase of a facility for the Merhamet Soup Kitchen.

”The gesture of four Maglaj elementary school students once again confirmed that humanity does not ‘slave’ to age limits,”they said from the Merhamet.

Together with their friends from 4th b grade, they visited the Regional Board of Merhamet Maglaj and handed the donation to the director Sanela Omerovic.

”This gesture of four Maglaj students pleasantly surprised us. The Regional Board of Merhamet Maglaj has very good cooperation with elementary and secondary school students and they are a great support to us. However, we were surprised by this much empathy shown by these four students: Jasmina, Tarik, Edah, and Inara. Although a symbolic amount, their gesture is worthy of respect and we are grateful to them for that,” said the director of the Regional Board Merhamet Maglaj.

She added that the action of raising funds for the purchase of the facility for the Merhamet Maglaj National Kitchen is still ongoing.

The purchase of that facility would finally solve the lack of conditional space for the work of the Soup Kitchen, uninterrupted preparation and distribution of meals to Merhamet users, and socially endangered families, but also for the placement of a refrigerator and storage of goods
