Students Fedja Hadzisulejmanovic and Tarik Jelacic from Sarajevo, and Ljeposava Plakalovic and Filip Stjepanovic from Vlasenica, represent BiH at the International Geography Olympiad that is taking place in Quebec, Canada.

Students went on this trip with Professor Dragan Ilic and they will be staying there in the period from July 31 to August 6.

The International Geography Olympiad (iGeo) has been held for 15 years, and students from 16 to 19 years of age show their skills in geography, exchange their experiences and learn about the cultures of other countries. The competition is held in English language.

The first competition ever was held in The Hague, and only five countries took part in it back then. Last year, the competition took place in Serbia and it gathered a total of 41 teams. Competitors received gold, silver and bronze medals. BH students won four bronze medals last year.

The next competition will be held in Hong Kong, and the one in the year of 2020 in Istanbul.
