The location – in front of the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina, date 10 February at 12 noon – is precisely the main information for the protests that have been announced due to the tragedy in Jablanica when 19 people died.

An informal group of students called on all people who have suffered losses in their families and suffered material damage, students from all faculties in Bosnia and Herzegovina, citizens of every town, municipality, city and all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina to support them and come out to protest.

They called on the authorities to be held accountable and made demands to those responsible, as they said, for this accident. They note that they will advocate for these demands until all of them are met.

“We distance ourselves in advance from all institutions, political parties, student organizations, associations and all persons who represent someone. We do not speak on behalf of anyone but on our own with our index numbers and the only condition for cooperating with us is that you are a student and that you are duly enrolled in the 2024/2025 academic year, at any faculty in BiH. We thank the entire public for their interest and desire to support us and in this regard we invite you to a protest on Monday and be part of the changes that are necessary for the entire society and state of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” states this informal group of students.

Let us recall that a total of 27 people died in the October floods and landslides.

Jablanica was the hardest hit, with 19 people killed, and Donja Jablanica was the worst affected, with eight people killed and enormous material damage caused.
The destroyed rail traffic on this route was restored only a few days ago, with the help of donations, and the passenger train should be operational next week, Klix.bawrites.
