At the 53rd International Physics Olympiad, which this year brought together around 400 students from over 80 countries around the world, students from BiH won two bronze medals.

Dženan Midžić (Gimnazija Bihać, 4th grade) and Muhamed Numanović (Richmond Park International School Tuzla, 2nd grade) won bronze medals, while Miodrag Ostojić (Technical school “Mihajlo Pupin” Bijeljina, 3rd grade) won commendation.

The students competed in the creation of experimental and theoretical tasks, during two days lasting five hours each. Each country had the right to register up to five students.

Richmond Park International School in Tuzla thanked everyone who helped in any way, especially the sponsors and donors who financially helped to cover the costs of the team’s participation in the Olympics.

“We expect that our team will arrive at the International Airport in Sarajevo on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. The school administration congratulates the Society of Physicists of FBiH headed by Prof. Benjamin Fetić, and all the students on their excellent placement, and we especially congratulate our student Muhamed Numanović who represented our country , made the canton, the city and the school proud again. We also thank the Government of Tuzla Canton for the support for Muhammed’s trip to the Olympics,” they announced.

The best results were traditionally achieved by students from China, South Korea, Russia, Romania, the USA and India.
