The level of foreign trade exchange between B&H, Serbia and Turkey is expected to increase by additional 200 million EUR in 2016, and one of the reasons for such increase will be successful cooperation between the three countries, said the Deputy President of the Council of Ministers of B&H and the Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of B&H Mirko Sarovic at yesterday’s trilateral business forum B&H – Serbia – Turkey, which is being held in Sarajevo.
Minister Sarovic emphasized that it is expected for the volume of foreign trade exchange between B&H, Serbia and Turkey to be at the level of 1.5 billion EUR by the end of the year, of which a billion EUR refers to Serbia, and 500 million EUR to Turkey.
“Turkey invests a lot out of its country, and they are at the level of $80 billion. There is no reason that Serbia and B&H do not get involved in that cycle to a larger extent in the coming period”, Sarovic said.
Sarovic announced that a higher degree of cooperation between B&H, Serbia and Turkey will be enabled by the implementation of the action plan agreed upon by the three countries, which is to be implemented in the coming two to three years. The first step, Sarovic highlighted, is holding an investment conference scheduled sometime in the first half of 2016, at which it is expected to agree on a larger scale of investing from Turkey in Serbia and B&H.
Moreover, Sarovic announced that a trade-touristic branch office to be used by Serbia and B&H for the purpose of promotion will be opened next month in Istanbul (Turkey), in accordance with the agreement made two days ago in Belgrade.
