13296045_1193243837393237_1549168076_nThis region needs new energy, innovation and inspiration in order to follow the changes in the world – it was pointed out in the panel that opened the second day of the Summit 100 of business leaders of southeastern Europe. The summit is being held in Sarajevo under the patronage of political leaders of the region.

Edin Mehić from the company Posao.ba and Networks business hub said that innovations are one of the most important components if this part of Europe wants to keep up with the rest of the world. One of the greatest problems in this region, Mehić believes, is the lack of connection in the entire system, primarily between educational institutions, investors and capital.

Mehić singled out the positive example of Slovenia, where it was started with two million EUR four years ago and today that is a market of 178 million EUR of investments in innovative businesses, star-ups and the like. According to Mehić, what is important in this process is to reach a decision which has to be rational, but also emotional, with the support of the entire system.

On the panels and during discussions, businessmen from the region presented their ideas, visions and attitudes towards economic flows, with energy in the focus. It was also discussed about other topics from the business world, such as traffic infrastructure, agriculture, tourism, informational technologies etc.

Basic goal of the Summit 100 and businessmen from the region is to try to unite the market of over 25 million people in order to launch new initiatives and projects, increase the number of employed, and jointly perform on the global market.

Participants of the Brdo-Brijuni process also attended the Summit 100 of business leaders of southeastern Europe within the presidential panel “Agreement for a new age”.

Patron of the Summit 100 is the Presidency of BiH.
