Suspension of Production in the Stranjani Pit Coal Mine?

The plan of emergency measures of Zenica Coal Mine foresees the suspension of production in the Stranjani pit, Dnevni Avaz newspapers reveal.

Such a plan is already ready and authorities of “Elektroprivreda BiH” are familiar with it.

The reason for this is that this pit has become completely unproductive, and miners have not been able to dig 40,000 tonnes of coal this year.

However, as it was said from Elektroprivreda BiH, urgent measures are being taken to save the entire Zenica mine.  “The pit is closing, but none of the miners will be left without the work. The miners will only be allocated to other pits, the Stara Jama and Raspotocje. Only in this way can the complete mine be saved. This is known to the miners,” was stated from Elektroprivreda BiH.

Around 150 miners working in this pit, dissatisfied with the situation and the plan of the Management of Mines, went down to the pit this morning and refused to leave.
