swedenAccording to Tanjug, Sweden allocate 400 million Euros for four Balkan countries by 2020.  This money will be used as an aid in the implementation of reforms necessary for accession to the EU.

Fredrik Schiller, Swedish Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina emphasized that these funds will help Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia and Kosovo in order to reform the administration, to ensure the protection of human rights and the work of judiciary.

He added that during the allocation of these resources, which will take place from 2014 to 2020, the amount of damage which was calculated in Serbia and Bosnia last month will be also taken into consideration.

During the presentation of new Swedish aid programs for Western Balkans, Swedish ambassador said that the “Devastating floods have changed the reality on the ground”.

Sweden intends to help Serbia and Bosnia in the short and long term and only Bosnia will get around 100 million euros from Sweden.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development estimated that flood damage in Bosnia amounts to 1.3 billion Euros, which is around 10 percent of GDP .
