Swedish Foreign Minister met with High BH Officals

At the meeting with Margot Wallström in Sarajevo, capital of BiH, the BiH Presidency member Bakir Izetbegovic expressed gratitude for the support that Sweden gives BiH on its path to the European Union and through cooperation with the Swedish International Cooperation Agency (SIDA).

Izetbegovic pointed out that unemployment rate is lowered and that BiH is committed to obtain candidate status and to continue the implementation of measures from the Reform Agenda.

For her part, Wallström pointed out that relations between the two states are friendly for 25 years and expressed the readiness for Sweden to continue to support BiH in the forthcoming period on its way to the EU.

For the end of the meeting, both interlocutors spoke about intensification of economic co-operation and greater involvement of Swedish investors in BiH.

On the meeting with Foreign Minister of BiH Igor Crnadak, Wallström welcomed the efforts of the authorities on the European path, saying that BiH citizens should be showed all the advantages of the EU economic market.

“BiH is high on the list of priorities of the Kingdom of Sweden’s foreign policy,” said Wallström during the meeting with Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdic.

She pointed out on the intensified visits and meetings between the two states in the last three years and a business forum in the Kingdom of Sweden which will be attended by the BiH delegation headed by Zvizdic.

For the end of the meeting it was concluded that the two countries are joined by dual citizenship agreement between BiH and Sweden, which was signed several years ago.

Sweden is one of the largest donors of BiH in the sectors of economic development, democracy, human rights and the environment.
