The Swiss Attorney General’s Office (OAG) announced that criminal charges were filed against Israeli President Isaac Herzog during his visit to the World Economic Forum in Davos.
“Criminal reports are now being investigated in accordance with the usual procedure,” they said.
The OAG added that the prosecution is in contact with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in order to investigate the issue of the immunity of the person in question.
However, the OAG did not reveal more details about the applications, nor the identity of the applicant.
Israel is facing a charge of genocide filed by South Africa at the International Court of Justice in The Hague for its attacks on the Gaza Strip. Tel Aviv, however, denies the accusations of genocide, saying it is only trying to protect its people.
