The President of the Republika Srpska (RS), one of the entities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zeljka Cvijanovic attended at the Institute for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation “Dr Miroslav Zotovic” the presentation of the system for robotically assisted rehabilitation of children and youth with developmental disabilities.
The robot-assisted rehabilitation system was purchased with funding raised in the “To Brave Hearts with Love” charity action, which is traditionally organized under the auspices of the President of RS.
Cvijanovic stated that a great step forward was made in the health sector of Srpska with the purchase of this state-of-the-art equipment for a new health service – the robot-assisted rehabilitation of children at the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Institute “Dr Miroslav Zotovic” in Banja Luka.
“It is a pleasure that the equipment, acquired through a joint effort and the goodwill of the institutions of Srpska, our citizens and various donors, including the Government of Serbia, is gaining ground and will be put to good use for younger beneficiaries who need such medical treatment,” Cvijanovic said.
She stressed that the essence is in mobilizing the whole society for humanitarian actions, not in the actual money, because the institutions of Srpska would have provided the necessary funding for the procurement of this piece of equipment.
“Last year, we raised a record amount of money in the ‘To Brave Hearts with Love’ charity and had a good campaign to show that it was a shared result with the aim of helping families and children. This and next year, we will continue with such activities to help families that are facing difficulties. If this equipment means that only one child will be able to make a single movement that it could not make before, then everything will be paid off,” underlined President Cvijanovic, Republika Srpska Times reports.
