Gordana Tadic, Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, together with Deputy Chief Prosecutors Ozrenka Neskovic and Diana Kajmakovic and the Head of a Section within the Special Department for War Crimes Sanja Jukic and her associates, met with Mr. Matt Haney, a member of the Board of Supervisors for San Francisco County, USA.

Mr. Haney, who is also a practicing attorney in the United States of America, is a former international employee of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and he had worked in the Special Department for War Crimes at the very beginning of the establishment and strengthening of the capacities of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, when international experts were involved.

Chief Prosecutor Tadic informed Mr. Haney about the institutional development and current structure and capacities of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, including its human resources and employees. Chief Prosecutor also presented the latest amendments to the Rulebook and informed Mr. Haney about the establishment of the Section for Combating Human Trafficking and Illegal Migrations and the merger of the Department II and Department III, as well as about the activity plan for the development and operation of this institution in the coming period.

Mr. Haney was particularly interested in the work of the Special Department for War Crimes, where he used to work, and he said that he was pleased to have been able to visit the institution after sixteen years. He also noted that the development of the institution was really evident, when compared to 2005 and the time when he had worked at the Prosecutor ‘s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina maintains good relations and contacts with its former international prosecutors and employees, who have contributed to the work and development of this institution.
