Tanja Fajon bportal.baThe vice-president of the Party of Socialists and a Progressive at the European Parliament Tanja Fajon said yesterday that her parliamentary group supports the draft resolution on Srebrenica, which is to be voted for in June.

‘’We, the Progressives, support the resolution’’, wrote Fajon on her Twitter account.

The Draft Resolution on Srebrenica which commemorates the victims and requires from the European institutions to undertake anything that such a crime never happens again, was submitted by the representative Ivan Jakovčić from the group of liberals.

Besides that, it is required from the Council of Europe and the Committee to send a clear message to all the countries of the Western Balkans that they have the European perspective and to support the integration process of the entire region to the EU, on the twentieth anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide.

Jakovčić’s suggestion that the draft resolution be included in the agenda of the plenary session of the European Parliament which is to be held from July 7th to 9th in Strasbourg was approved by all the parliamentary groups at the meeting of the Presidency of the EP three days ago, and it will be formally voted for once more, seven days prior to the session.
