Deputy Chairman of the BiH Council of Ministers and Minister of Finance and Treasury, Zoran Tegeltija, spoke today with the head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Mission, Alina Ianaku, who has been in the visit to BiH with her associates since May 10.

During the visit of the IMF Mission, the new resident representative of the IMF in BiH, Andreas Tudik, was introduced, who will replace Andrew Jewell in this position as of August this year.

Tegeltija wished successful work to the new resident representative of the IMF in BiH and emphasized that he expects good cooperation with this financial institution in the coming period.

The interlocutors referred to the financial situation in BiH, but also worldwide because the basic economic parameters showed that the negative effects of the crisis have been reflected in various areas.

According to the latest IMF estimates, inflation is slowing down, but it is necessary to implement measures to stabilize the situation.

Tegeltija stated that the authorities in BiH took measures each in their own area and in accordance with their competencies, and according to the estimates, a slight drop in inflation is expected.

The interlocutors agreed that it is necessary to continue the initiated reforms that should be adapted to the new economic situation, said the Ministry of Finance and Treasury of BiH.
