Young competitor of the Aquafit Swimming Club, Esma Dizic, has continued to push the boundaries of Bosnian and Herzegovinian(BiH) swimming.
This past weekend, the jubilee 20th international swimming meet “Srdjan and Maksim 2025″ was held. The competition in Trebinje, organized by the Leotar Swimming Club, gathered 399 swimmers from BiH, Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia, Germany, Denmark, Switzerland, and Austria.
Esma Dizic broke two national records in the younger cadet category in the 50-meter freestyle and 200-meter freestyle events, and after her recent record in the 1.500-meter freestyle, once again positioned herself as a candidate for the future top swimmers of this part of Europe, and beyond.
“The previous record in the 50-meter freestyle was 31.34 seconds, and now Esma has lowered it to 30.84 seconds. The record in the 200-meter freestyle was 2:28.40, and the new one, owned by Esma, is 2:27.07, which is one second and 33 hundredths faster than the one held, also, by Iman Avdic. It is a great honor that these records had remained untouched for eight years. Esma is the first swimmer to have surpassed the times of the BiH swimming star, Iman Avdic,” said Bakir Hadziahmetovic, coach of the Aquafit Swimming Club, and added:
“Esma scored 451 WA points in the 200m freestyle, while in the 50-meter freestyle she scored 448 WA points. By the end of the year, Esma will seek a place on the table of other BiH records, for which they have five months left to do so.”, Klix.ba writes.
