The Philippines has evacuated tens of thousands of people from their homes and canceled dozens of flights as a major typhoon threatens to bring heavy rains and winds, accompanied by flooding and storm surges.
With winds of up to 185 kilometers per hour, Typhoon Manji is moving towards the eastern part of the main island of Luzon.
The weather agency has issued a level two warning for the provinces of Catanduanes and Camarines Sur. The storm is expected to make landfall late tonight or early tomorrow morning.
Manji is the sixth tropical cyclone to hit the Philippines in a month.
