Tens of Thousands of Tourists visited Sports and Adventure Park ‘Fortica’

Sports and adventure park Fortica above Mostar during the season was visited by tens of thousands of tourists from BiH and more than 60 countries of the world, and the end of the season is marked by great interest in group one-day trips with a combination of different adrenaline activities.

“Some of the main attraction is the zip line with a total length of one kilometer, and that is what attracts the most attention of adventurers, and in addition, the locality offers climbing opportunities, we have a via ferrata, a suspension bridge, hiking and walking trails, a sports climbing area, bicycle rental. So people can rent a bike and ride on these trails, and we also have a big swing on the skywalk,” said the president of the Mountain Biking Association MTBA from Mostar, Đani Rahimić to Fena.

He added that the glass walkway (skywalk) is one of the last built attractions that also attracts a large number of people, as well as the mountain lodge where guests can refresh themselves and eat something.

He believes that it is a multitude of opportunities for people to have fun and complete their time, and that they often come and enjoy nature and the view.

According to their estimates, tens of thousands of tourists from more than 60 countries of the world visited the Fortica adventure park during the season.

“This is a very large number for this locality, which is not in the central part of Mostar, but is still in a rural area, and that makes us very happy. We are pleased that we managed to attract tourists from Mostar to visit this sports and adventure park. The most interesting for them are the skywalk and the view, because from here they can see the whole city, all the surrounding mountains, and that is certainly what interests them the most,” Rahimić said.

He emphasizes that a certain number of visitors, from 500 to 1000 of them during the year, try out the zip line, so that it is still a popular attraction for which, he adds, tourists from more than 60 countries of the world show interest.

“The largest number are domestic tourists, about 40 percent of them are from Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the rest are foreign guests. We are satisfied with how this season is going, as well as with what we have done in the past period, and every year we do something new. Since we are an association, i.e. a non-profit organization, we reinvest all the excess income we generate into this locality, and that is what makes it sustainable and what guarantees its future,” he assessed.

Rahimić points out that all subsequent activities are planned in accordance with the demands of tourists.

“We always listen to their requests and wishes and plan our activities for the next season accordingly. So this year, we planned to build an adrenaline park and a playground for children in the future. We miss that because we had something very limited for children. We are trying to safely enable the youngest to enjoy this locality, and for parents to rest and enjoy their activities carefree, and that will certainly be the focus in the coming period,” he noted.

He also says that the end of the season was marked by interest in “team building” and that there is an increasing number of groups interested in one-day trips with a combination of different adrenaline activities.

“Usually, at the end of the season, we have requests from various companies for ‘team building’, that is, popular activities for employees, companies, and groups of friends. What we can offer is actually a combination of all these activities that I have listed, and there is also, apart from sports activities, a jeep safari, where we can take a ride in the surrounding mountains. This is one service that we have successfully offered for several years and here we have it a company from Bosnia and Herzegovina that decided to make its employees happy and connect them with team building activities,” emphasizes the president of the Mountain Biking Association MTBA.

He reminded that zip line, climbing, walking, swing, bicycle can be combined in one day trip.

“An activity with a combination of rest and a meal, lunch, is a nice one-day event, and the mild climate in Herzegovina offers the possibility to do it in October and November. We are open to everything and are very happy to respond to such inquiries,” said Rahimić.
