The Bosnian Academic Society in Austria marked the 836th anniversary of the Kulin Ban Charter with a ceremony at the Diplomatic Academy in Vienna, recalling that it is a symbol of statehood and identity of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

As announced, the recipient of honorary membership of the Bosnian Academic Society in Austria, Academician Mirko Pejanović, expressed deep respect for the organizers and the participants present, emphasizing that in his many years of practice he had not seen a similar event in the diaspora.

He was impressed by the large number of young, academically educated citizens originally from Bosnia and Herzegovina, who confirmed with their presence and engagement that the connection with the homeland remains strong.

During the ceremony, awards were traditionally presented to students, scholars and artists who have achieved outstanding results and contributions in their fields this year. Among the awarded students are Ishak Sijamhodžić, Iva Amidžić, Radojka Ivković, Edin Čaušević, Alen Saračević, Dejana Paponjak, Dženana Gazibegović, Adnan Arnautović, Nejla Mahmutović and Jasmina Džanić. The Artist of the Year is Ejnar Čolak, and the Scientist of the Year is Dr. Medina Hamidović.

The event’s program also included cultural and artistic content, speeches by distinguished speakers, and socializing and networking among participants. Participants and guests jointly expressed their commitment to preserving the language, culture and memory of Bosnian tradition, the Bosnian Academic Society in Austria announced.
