Action to Create BeEco Forest on Bjelašnica

BeEcoThe association of Citizens BeEco is organizing the action of reforestation of southern slopes of Bjelašnica this weekend, on 19th and 20th October, and they invite all citizens to come and plant a tree.

The aim of this action is to make “a BeEco forest” that one day will provide clean air to all generations of Canton Sarajevo and other parts of B&H.

The action titled “Plant your first tree ” started in the fall 2012 and so far more than 250 activists, members of BeEco and pupils of environmental section of primary schools Silvija Strahimir Kranjčević and Isak Samokovlija supported this action.

On the first day, on 19 October, the reforestation will take place above the village Umoljani, on the southern slopes of Bjelašnica, where BeEco had excellent results with almost 50 percent received seedlings. Gathering of activists will take place in front of the Hotel Han, on Bjelašnica, at 10:00 and after that they will head to Umoljani by buses and cars.

Then will follow the distribution of seedlings provided by the association in cooperation with the public company Šume Sarajevo.
