Representatives of the implementing company, ITF Enhancing Human Security from the Republic of Slovenia, yesterday handed over a sophisticated medical motor vehicle with equipment, with a total value of 990.000 BAM, for use by the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (AFBiH), at the “Rajlovac” barracks.
The handover was attended by representatives of the European Peace Facility (EPF), the European Commission, the Balkan Medical Task Force (BMTF) command, the United States Air Force (USAF), and the Ministry of Defence of BiH.
On this occasion, training and certification were also carried out for members of the Armed Forces’ medical service, who operate within the BMTF, for work with the new medical equipment. The equipment will significantly enhance the capabilities of the AFBiH in providing medical protection and assistance to the civilian population in the event of natural disasters.
The assistance package within the EPF, approved in 2022 in the amount of six million euros, is intended to strengthen the capacities of the BMTF and includes the procurement of medical equipment for the armed forces of Albania, BiH, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia.
The Ministry of Defence and the AFBiH express their gratitude to all partners for their continuous support in strengthening the medical capacities of the AFBiH and regional cooperation within the BMTF, the Ministry of Defence of BiH said in a statement.
