In the yard of a family home in the municipality of Ljubešćica in the Varaždin County, the buried bodies of two children were found yesterday, for which their parents were taken into custody.

The third child was taken care of by the Institute for Social Welfare.

The man from Split, who was arrested with his wife on suspicion of infanticide, was actively involved in water polo for years and was also a singer in the Split band.

As Slobodna Dalmacija writes, he became a member of a religious sect a few years ago and met his current wife there.

“With his unmarried wife, who was a professor of music, he decided to go live in the wilderness, in complete isolation,” said the interlocutor for this media.

His acquaintances state that he probably did not even report the birth of his children to anyone, given his views on the state and laws.

Croatian Minister Davor Božinović confirmed this information.

“Given that the births were obviously carried out independently at home, the children were not even registered in the registers, and there was no knowledge of the existence of these children at all,” he said.

As Božinović said, the third child was also suspected of neglect and abuse and was separated from the family, Klix.ba writes.
