The Americans destroyed seven radars of the Houthi rebels in Yemen

The US military announced that it had destroyed seven radars used by the Houthi rebels to target ships in the Red Sea in Yemen.

This happened at a time when the group is increasing its attacks on maritime traffic on the important waterway.

The US military’s Middle East Command (Centcom) announced that it had destroyed seven radars that allowed the Houthis to target ships and threaten commercial shipping.

The American command specified that the radars were destroyed during the previous 24 hours in the territories controlled by the Houthis in Yemen, as well as that two rebel unmanned vessels and one drone were also destroyed.

The US strikes come amid increased attacks by the Houthis, members of the “Axis of Resistance”, an Iranian-backed group of armed movements hostile to Israel and the US.

The crew of the MV Tutor ship, damaged on Wednesday in the Red Sea in an attack by Hutus, was evacuated by the army, the British Maritime Safety Agency UKMTO announced yesterday.

The Houthis said Thursday that they attacked three ships in the past 24 hours in retaliation for crimes committed against their people in the Gaza Strip and in response to what they say is US-British aggression against their country.

Since November last year, the Houthi rebels have carried out dozens of drone and missile attacks on ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, disrupting world trade traffic in that strategic zone.

In response to the Houthi attacks, the US formed a multinational force in December to protect navigation in the Red Sea and, with the help of Great Britain, is carrying out strikes against the rebels in Yemen, Beta writes.
