The Embassy of the Republic of Italy in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), in cooperation with the City of Mostar, organized the visit of a group of flag bearers from the city of Arezzo.

This interesting performance began with a walk from the Spanish Square to HD Herceg Stjepan Kosaca.

Citizens and passers-by enjoyed medieval music and a performance with flags.

The Ambassador of Italy to BiH Marco Di Ruzza pointed out that yesterday‘s event was organized as part of the celebration of the Day of the Republic of Italy and thanked the mayor of Mostar who supported this project.

“This is a spectacle that will surely further strengthen the historical friendship that exists between BiH and Italy. Italy has always been with Mostar and I hope that today’s event will be just the beginning of cooperation between the cities of Arezzo and Mostar, not only when it comes to culture, but also tourism,” said Di Ruzza yesterday.

He added that Italy strongly supports BiH’s European path and the policy of the European Union (EU) enlargement to BiH and the Western Balkans, and said that BiH and the Balkans have always been part of the history of Europe.

Mostar Mayor Mario Kordic said that Mostar already has two sister cities and that he would like yesterday’s event to be the beginning of a beautiful story and perhaps the beginning that will end with this city having a third friend, a brother in Italy.

The Arezzo Flag Bearers is a group that has existed for several decades, and which a medieval Italian tradition to their performances. Thanks to their elegance, style and respect for tradition, they are appreciated and known all over the world and their performance includes athletic, choreographic, rhythmic and musical components, Klix.ba reports.
