The artificial lake at the top of Poljice was officially put into operation on the occasion of one year work of the new management of the Olympic Center Jahorina.

“We did not hesitate to support business plans that are aimed to raise the quality of services in this area. I am very glad to be part of the team that helped. The Government of the RS invested 11 million BAM only in this project. We have supported investments on Jahorina Mountain in the past few years in the amount of 57 million BAM and we will not stop there. We have to make this one of the most referential regional centres of this type, ” said the President of the RS, Milorad Dodik.

“With the support of President Milorad Dodik, the Government of the RS and the Supervisory Board, we managed to achieve great results in a short period of time when it comes to reconstruction, improvement of business operations and infrastructure of Jahorina Olympic Center and we got this center closer to the people of RS. Jahorina is pride of all of us and that is why this day is important for all people from Pale, Trnovo and all the municipalities of East Sarajevo. The realization of this project will open new workplaces and create the basis for a better life for local people and new generations,” said the Director of the Olympic Center Dejan Ljevnaic.

Minister of Trade and Tourism of the RS, Predrag Gluhakovic, expressed his hope that the lake on Jahorina Mountain will be used 365 days a year.

Mayor of Pale Bosko Jugovic stated that he is pleased with the fact that the local community has the opportunity to take part in that kind of a project.

The artificial lake is 14 meters deep, and its diameter is around 600 meters that will be enough to provide water for the system of artificial snowing throughout the season. After the system for artificial snowing is ensured, Jahorina will have more than 120 skiing days in the season. The goal of the Jahorina Olympic Center is for the mountain to live 365 days a year.
