SDA President Bakir Izetbegovic said at the end of July that Bosniaks in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) “have been counted and are ready”. What readiness do the numbers show?

170.000 people left BiH in 2021.

260.000 out of a total of half a million young people (18 to 29) plan to leave the country.

60 percent of young people are unemployed.

63 PhDs are unemployed.

5.875 master graduates are unemployed.

6.792 unemployed persons with higher education.

57 parliamentarians and delegates at the state level have a salary of 3.000 euros, and the average salary in BiH is 500 euros.

60 percent of pensioners receive the lowest pension of around 200 euros.

80 percent of citizens give bribes in health care institutions.

85 percent of citizens think that BiH is going in the wrong direction.

62 percent of citizens do not trust any politician.

16.800 users of soup kitchens.

7.200 refugees and displaced people in 121 collective centers 30 years after the war.

56 schools based on the principle of “two schools under one roof.”

1.575 citizens of BiH applied for asylum in the European Union (EU) in 2021.

93.317 people have renounced their BiH passports since 1996, RSE reports.
