The Atmosphere of SFF through Photos of Damir Šagolj

damir šagoljaFamous world photographer Damir Šagolj will join the team of the 19th Sarajevo Film Festival. Through the popular social network Instagram, Šagolj will offer a series of photographs recorded with a phone that in an attractive way will convey the atmosphere of Sarajevo during the Festival.

Instagram users will have the opportunity to enjoy beautiful photographs of Damir Šagolj and to follow interesting festival events on the official profile of the Sarajevo Film Festival (sarajevofilmfestival).

Photos of Damir Sagolj are published in leading international magazines and newspapers. He has received numerous international awards for photojournalism, including World Press Photo, POYi, NPPA Awards … He introduced himself in numerous exhibitions, including a large solo, at the Visa D’or in Perpignan.

Currently, he is in Bangkok as the Reuters chief photographer for Thailand and Southeast Asia.

The first international engagement of Damir Šagolj started in the 90‘s during the historical events in the Balkans. After the situation calmed down in the region, Šagolj has been going often to the Middle East – Iran, Lebanon and Israel. After reporting for New York on 11th September 2001, he is covering events in Afghanistan and Iraq. For reporting on coalition troops in Iraq, along with numerous awards, he was even nominated for a Pulitzer Prize.

In the previous period he has reported for almost all major world events, including the tsunami in Japan, floods in Pakistan and Thailand, famine in North Korea, the International Criminal Court in The Hague, democratic change in Myanmar …

The Sarajevo Film Festival with great joy received the news of  Šagolj’s engagement, this world-class photographers on the team of the 19th SFF.
