The average retail price of premium unleaded gasoline 95 (BAS EN 228 – BMB 95) on March 16 was higher by 0.02 BAM per liter compared to Friday, March 13, while the average retail price of diesel (BAS EN 590 – 10 ppm) increased by 0.06 BAM per liter compared to the same date.

In January of this year, the price of diesel was 2.29, and today the average price is 2.99 marks per liter. The price of gasoline in January was 2.32, and currently it is 2.45 marks per liter, the Federal Ministry of Trade (FMT) announced.

From February 28 to today, the price of diesel jumped by 0.64 BAM, and the price of gasoline by 0.13 BAM per liter.

According to data from the Federal Ministry of Trade, in the period from February 28 to March 15, 2026, gas stations submitted a total of 5,567 forms on price and margin changes (OPC and OPM), of which 4,002 forms related to diesel (BAS EN 590), and 1,565 forms to premium unleaded gasoline 95 (BAS EN 228 – BMB 95).

In the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Decision on prescribing direct price control measures by determining the maximum level of margins for oil derivatives (“Official Gazette of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina”, number 26/21) is still in force, by which a maximum margin of 0.06 BAM per liter of derivatives is prescribed for companies engaged in wholesale trade, while a maximum margin of 0.25  BAM is prescribed for companies engaged in retail trade in oil derivatives.

Federal and cantonal market inspectors continuously monitor the application of the said Decision, as long as the Decision is in force, and all market inspectors from the territory of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina have access to the data received by the Federal Ministry of Trade.

The focus of inspection supervision is aimed at controlling wholesale and retail price calculations, that is, at controlling the formation of prices prescribed by direct price control measures.

The Federal Ministry of Trade invites the citizens of FBiH to use the FMToil mobile application, through which they can monitor fuel prices at gas stations throughout the Federation in real time.
