Members of the BiH Border Police in the area of Velika Kladuša, successfully implemented the Operational Action Eskobar, which is aimed at breaking up organized criminal groups in connection with the illicit trafficking of narcotics.

During the operation, about 6,000 hemp stalks were discovered in a purpose-built camp for the production and cultivation of the narcotic drug marijuana, which was distributed both domestically and in the European Union market.

Support to the BiH Border Police in the implementation of this operational action was the SIPA Special Support Unit, with which the BiH Border Police continuously cooperates and records excellent results in the fight against all forms of crime. Due to the specifics of the situation and activities during the implementation, support to the BiH Border Police was provided by the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Croatia. The operational action took place under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, and a total of 110 police officers participated.

Four people were arrested, all BiH citizens.

The Director of the BiH Border Police, Zoran Galić, emphasized the importance of this operational action and thanked everyone who participated in order to realize the largest operational action of the BP.
