The Bishops’ Conference calls for Refraining from harsh Words

The Bishops’ Conference of Bosnia and Herzegovina at its 95th regular session expressed its concern over the actions, as stated, and the decisions of individuals and certain institutions “which only portray one nation as a victim, without readiness to face their own responsibility”.

They also emphasized that such an approach deepens mistrust and prevents true dialogue and the process of reconciliation between the peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Since it is an election year, they called on all participants in social and political processes, especially those who participate in government and make decisions, to refrain from harsh words and insults and to respect the individual and collective rights of every person, of all constituent nations and minority groups.

“It is necessary to eliminate the possibility of injustice, overvoting, manipulation and domination from the electoral process,” the bishops emphasize. They repeat once again that dialogue is the only morally acceptable way that the elected representatives must follow in negotiations in order to find a solution,” said the Bishops’ Conference.
