Members of the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina prevented the smuggling of 32 foreign citizens in three separate cases, namely citizens of Turkey, Syria and China.
In the first case during border control in the border zone in the area of the municipality of Ljubuški, on September 27, the smuggling of 29 Turkish citizens was prevented, the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced today.
A.C., a citizen of BiH, is brought in connection with this smuggling.
Five smuggled Turkish citizens were discovered in a “Skoda” passenger motor vehicle with BiH license plates, which was driven by A.C, while the other part of the smuggled Turkish citizens, 24 of them, were seized in the immediate vicinity of the vehicle control.
The on-duty prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH was informed about the incident, according to whose order the suspected driver was deprived of liberty and a report on the criminal offense of human smuggling will be submitted to the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH.
The smuggled citizens of Turkey were handed over to members of the Service for Affairs with Foreigners of Bosnia and Herzegovina for further processing, along with a proposal to expel them from the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Members of the Border Police Unit of BiH Gradiška deprived the citizen of Syria N.B. (56).
The citizen of Syria, along with the report on the crime of human smuggling, was handed over to the acting prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
A mixed patrol of members of the Gorica Border Police Unit and the Imotski Border Police Unit of the Croatian MUP prevented the smuggling of two Chinese citizens in the area of the municipality of Grude.
Foreign citizens were smuggled by a Chinese citizen, J.Đ. (35) in the vehicle “Volkswagen Turan” with registration plates BiH.
According to the order of the duty prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the suspected Chinese citizen was deprived of his liberty and handed over to the acting prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina along with a report on the crime of person smuggling.
Smuggled Chinese citizens were handed over to members of the Service for Affairs with Foreigners of Bosnia and Herzegovina for further processing.
Eight persons wanted by Interpol, the courts and the police were discovered at the border crossings.
