The Central Celebration of the Unconstitutional Day of RS is moving from Banja Luka to Istocno Sarajevo

The central celebration of the unconstitutional Day of the Republika Srpska (RS), on January 9th, will be moved from Banja Luka to Istocno Sarajevo this year.

The festive parade, which was organized on the streets of Banja Luka in previous years, is now planned to take place on the streets of Istocno Sarajevo on January 9th.

”On the initiative of the President of RS (Milorad Dodik), who is also the President of the Committee for the Day of the RS, this year we are organizing a festive parade in Istocno Sarajevo,”said Mayor Ljubisa Cosic.

When asked if they expect fierce reactions from Sarajevo because of this move, Cosic said that there is no need for any reactions.

”It is a celebration of a day that 98% of the inhabitants of the RS accept. Therefore, as far as our neighbors from Sarajevo are concerned, they are welcome to attend and watch the parade, as well as all other good people who will be in Istocno Sarajevo that day,” he added.

Cosic also said that this is an event that was organized in a peaceful spirit in previous years and that it should continue that way and that there is no need to raise tensions.

As in previous years, the formal academy will be held in Banja Luka, but a night earlier.

It should be recalled the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) decided that January 9th as the day of the RS, is unconstitutional. Today, January 9th is seen in most of BiH as the beginning of ethnic cleansing and crimes against the non-Serb population in our country.

Moreover, last year the United Srpska party, whose president is Nenad Stevandic, submitted a provocative request for the lease of a hall with the aim of holding a ceremonial academy on the occasion of the unconstitutional Day of the RS in the Sarajevo City Hall. The request was rejected by the mayor Benjamina Karic, Klix.ba reports.
