The mayor of Sarajevo, Benjamina Karić, announced that the contracts on the financial assistance of the city of Sarajevo to all safe houses in Bosnia and Herzegovina were signed today.
“By rebalancing the budget, eight safe houses operating in Bosnia and Herzegovina will receive financial support from the City of Sarajevo. Safe houses in Bihać, Modriča, Bijeljina, Banjaluka, Mostar, Zenica, Tuzla and Sarajevo are united in the fight against violence!”, wrote Karić.
She thanked councilor Vedad Deljković for the submitted initiative and the City Council headed by chairman Jasmin Ademović for its adoption.
“Special thanks to the resident coordinator of the United Nations in BiH, Ingrid Macdonald, for her support,” said Karić.
According to the announcement, for eight safe houses operating in Bosnia and Herzegovina 240,000 BAM is allocated, which means 30,000 BAM per house.
