The current Convocation of the BiH Presidency has completed its first Year, what has been done?

Exactly one year ago, the first session of the current convocation of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) was held. To date, they have had seven sessions, five regular and two extraordinary. The work of this convocation of the Presidency was marked by the adoption of a series of international agreements, and meetings with European and world officials, but also obstructions, overrides, and different interpretations.

The convocation of the BiH Presidency has completed its first year, and in the previous 365 days, something has been done.

“This Presidency adopted various financial contracts worth two billion and 500 million. I must say that we also made contact with statesmen at the most important European and world addresses, in the field of defense we solved some issues that have not been solved for years,” Denis Becirovic stated, member of the Presidency of BiH.

However, the work of this convocation of the Presidency was marked by obstructions and pressures. Analysts believe that the work of Komsic, Becirovic, and Cvijanovic does not differ much from their predecessors.

“The work of this Presidency, as well as the previous ones, was marked by obstructions, accusations, overvoting, in this year we could really see rare situations when the members of the Presidency worked without any mutual accusations, without obstructions.”

Nevertheless, the BiH Presidency adopted a series of agreements but also resolved the issue of the Chief of the Armed Forces of BiH (AFBiH).

“I think the Presidency works much better than the Council of Ministers, let’s look at the last session of the Presidency, where a large number of important international agreements were adopted and the issue of the new Chief of the ABiH, which is very important for the functioning of the AFBIH, was finally resolved,” said Denis Carkadzic, a political analyst.

The members of the BiH Presidency, who, among other things, are in charge of foreign policy, manage to confuse the domestic and international public in this term as well, all because of different interpretations of individual meetings. This could be seen especially in the example of the visit of the NATO Secretary-General.

“Zeljka Cvijanovic, for example, claimed that there were no discussions at all about membership in NATO. On the other hand, Denis Becirovic emphasized that the Secretary-General said that BiH has full support for NATO membership,” explained Mladen Bubonjic, a political analyst.

The Presidency of BiH will work for another three years in this convocation, so it will still have the opportunity to take serious and important steps, BHRT reports.
