The death toll from Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip since the start of the conflict on October 7 has risen to 15,207, the Gaza government’s media office said on Saturday.
The statement added that 70 percent of the victims were children and women, and that 40,652 people were wounded.
“The occupation continues to expand its bombing of civilians after the end of the humanitarian pause,” the statement added.
Since the start of the conflict, 280 medical workers have been killed in Israeli attacks, while 31 of them, including the director of Al-Shifa Hospital Mohammad Abu Salmiy, have been detained for “fascist interrogation under torture, abuse and starvation”.
As many as 130 health centers were the target of the attack, and 20 hospitals and 46 medical centers are out of order.
The Israeli military resumed heavy attacks across the Gaza Strip early Friday after the humanitarian pause ended, and at least 193 Palestinians have been killed and 652 injured since then, according to the Gaza Health Ministry, Middle East Monitor writes.
