The remittances that people working abroad send to their families in B&H is recording an increase,  for the first three months of 2015. 493.6 million BAM has arrived,  17.6 million BAM more than in the same period last year.

The incomes realized from other transfers in the first quarter amounted to 314.3 million BAM, out of which 301.2 million BAM arrived on from  pensions earned outside of B&H.

The value of remittances is stable now, with the incomes from abroad  recording a slight trend of growth after a big economic crisis which shook Europe in 2008. According to data from the Central Bank of B&H, the value of remittances in the first three months of 2014 amounted to 476 million BAM, 478 million Bam in 2013, while in 2012, 451 million BAM arrived in B&H on this basis.

“If ‘our foreigners’ are well situated and have stable incomes and employments, then they are able to send more money to their family. The number of persons who are looking for  employment abroad is increasing from year to year”,  stated the Central Bank of B&H.
