The Duchess of Edinburgh visited the Butmir Base

EUFOR Commander Major General Florin Marian Barbu and NATO Headquarters Sarajevo Commander Brigadier General Matthew A. Wallace hosted the Duchess of Edinburgh, Sophie Rhys-Jones, a member of the Royal Family of the United Kingdom, at Butmir Base.

During the official talks, the current security situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina was discussed. The EUFOR Commander stressed the key role of EUFOR in ensuring a safe and stable environment for all citizens and reaffirmed the importance of continued cooperation with local partners.

Her Royal Highness was accompanied by the British Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Julian Reilly.

Together with the EUFOR Commander and the NATO Headquarters Sarajevo Commander, the Duchess of Edinburgh participated in the commemoration in Srebrenica on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the genocide, where she arrived by EUFOR helicopter, EUFOR announced.
