The Public Health Institute of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton (HNC) warns that in the period from August 2nd to August 15th a deterioration of the epidemiological situation in this canton was marked.

”In the mentioned period, the weekly incidence increased from 44.39 to 154.91 newly infected persons per 100.000 inhabitants, which is an increase in the number of newly infected by 350 percent, ” as announced by the Crisis Staff of the Ministry of Health, Labor, and Social Welfare.

In the last seven days, the highest incidence was recorded in Neum 297.55, Mostar 212.23, and Citluk 150.70 per 100.000 inhabitants.

The increase in the number of newly infected has led to an increase in the number of hospitalizations, so currently, there are 28 people in hospital at the Clinic for Infectious Diseases of the University Clinical Hospital Mostar.

“Given the expected further deterioration of the epidemiological situation in HNC, it is necessary to strictly adhere to the orders and recommendations of the Crisis Staff of the Federal Ministry of Health, which are valid in HNC, and whose duration was extended by the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) on August 11th to another two weeks. Also, an intensified supervision over the implementation of current measures carried out by the competent inspection services is needed, ” it was said by the Crisis Staff.

They noted that the HNC has a sufficient amount of vaccines against Covid-19 and called on all citizens to be immunized, Klix.ba writes.
