European parliamentNext week, the European Parliament will mark the 20th anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica, but will not make a special resolution on that, as announced from the Press service of the EP.

Instead of a resolution proposed by a Croatian delegate, Ivan Jakovcic, the president of the Parliament will read a statement in which he will pay tribute to the victims of Srebrenica at the plenary session in Strasbourg.

The President of the European Parliament, Martin Schulz, will attend the commemoration in Potocari on 11th July, as confirmed by his spokesperson.

Delegates Eduard Kukan, Jozo Rados, Igor Soltes and Tanja Fajon will divide 750 hand-knitted “Flowers of Srebrenica“ to their colleagues on Monday in front of the plenary hall of the EP in Strasbourg.
