A Japanese cultural event titled “The Evening of Nanbudo Sport and Japanese Culture” was held by Nanbudo Center Banja Luka in the City Theatre “Jazavac”.

“The Evening of Nanbudo and Japanese Culture” is an annual event, held for the 14th time this year. The Banja Luka Nanbudo Center, along with Dr. Suzana Gotovac-Atlagić, a professor at the Banja Luka University and formerly a Japanese government scholarship student, prepared a rich program for this year, including demonstrations of the nanbudo art, dance and song performances, which were followed by great applause.

Mr. Oliver Gačić, representative from the Ministry for Family, Youth and Sports of the Republika Srpska, and Mr. Dragan Banjac, Chief of Office for Health, Education, Youth and Sports of the City Administration of Banja Luka, each addressed the audience, expressing their hopes for further development of the friendly relations through sports, and expansion of cooperation with the Japanese Embassy in various fields.

The Embassy’s Cultural Attaché and Head of PR and Culture Department, Ms. Hisae Minami, expressed her gratitude to the organizers in her opening address, who have been continuously hosting Japanese culture introduction events in Banja Luka, as well as touched upon the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games to be held the following year in Tokyo, Japan, further saying how she expects that friendly relations between the two countries would deepen further through sports.
