A member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Bećirović, assessed that the issue of the confirmation of Borjana Krišto as the Chairperson of the BiH Council of Ministers cannot in any way affect his positions on NATO.
“I will never make any move that will slow down the country’s path to NATO. On the contrary, I will support every move and every measure that will accelerate the path of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina to NATO. Citizens must no longer be hostages of constant blockades, blackmail and quarrels,” Bećirović said today after the second extraordinary session of the BiH Presidency.
He pointed out that any delay in appointments costs the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina greatly, and that it is important to start respecting the deadlines prescribed by law.
“In the last convocation, the prime minitser-designate was appointed 14 months after the elections, and in this term, it happened in less than a month. This was the fastest confirmation of the prime minister-designate in the post-Dayton era. The House of Representatives of BiH Parliament will have the final word,” he said.
He pointed out that the appointment was made in accordance with the Constitution of BiH, the Law on the Council of Ministers of BiH and the Rules of Procedure of the Presidency of BiH.
“Today there were two options, namely that the chairman of the BiH Council of Ministers should continue to be Zoran Tegeltija, who led the worst Council of Ministers so far, and the second was to vote in accordance with the Constitution, the law and the rules of procedure and to open the process of constituting the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina. There was no third option,” he pointed out.
He said that the signed political party agreements can never be above the Constitution of BiH and that the decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH are final and binding.
